Fund manager
Andris Kotans
Kotans, a native of Latvia, is a Senior Portfolio Manager at Citadele Asset Management, a specialist in Baltic investments. He manages most of the bond funds run by Parex including, since October 2007, the NESTOR Eastern Europe Bond.
He studied economics and business administration at the Central European University in Budapest and at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.
He then became a portfolio manager with Hansa Investment Funds, where he was responsible for all bond funds investing in Central and Eastern Europe between September 2005 and October 2007.
Kotans is convinced that: “The prospects for the Eastern European bond markets are good in the long term. There is no stopping the structural improvements in such aspects as size, liquidity and legal certainty that are so urgently necessary.”
